Attio Setup Guide

Connect Tables.so to Attio and export enriched people and companies straight into your Attio records.

The Tables.so Attio integration sends the people and companies you find and enrich in Tables.so to your Attio workspace. It creates new People and Companies records, updates the ones you already have, and can set each record's owner. Setup takes about 5 minutes.

Before you start

  • A Tables.so account where you are a workspace admin. Connecting is free on every plan. Exporting records to Attio requires a Plus plan or higher.
  • An Attio workspace where you can install apps.

1. Connect Attio

You can connect from either side.

From the Attio App Store

  1. Open Tables.so in the Attio App Store and click Install.
  2. Log in to Tables.so, or create an account. You come straight back to the connection step afterwards.
  3. Choose the Tables.so workspace to connect and click Connect Attio.
  4. Review the permissions in Attio and approve them. You land on the Tables.so integrations page with Attio connected.

From Tables.so

  1. In Tables.so, open Integrations from your workspace settings.
  2. Click Connect Attio on the Attio card. An Attio window opens.
  3. Approve the permissions. The window closes and the Attio card shows Connected with your Attio workspace name.

What Tables.so can access

Tables.so asks Attio for three permissions, and uses each only for the integration:

  • Object configuration (read): lists the attributes on your People and Companies objects, so you can choose where each Tables.so field goes.
  • Records (read and write): finds existing people and companies, creates new records and updates the fields you mapped.
  • User management (read): lists the members of your Attio workspace, so you can set the owner of exported records and match your Tables.so teammates to their Attio users.

2. Map your fields

On the integrations page, the Attio field mappings section appears once Attio is connected. It loads the attributes from your People and Companies objects, including custom attributes.

Standard fields are mapped for you: name, email address, phone number, job title, LinkedIn and location for people, and name, domain, description and LinkedIn for companies. Change any mapping or add your own, then save.

3. Set record owners (optional)

Under Owner attribute, choose which Attio attribute holds the owner for People and for Companies. Then match each Tables.so teammate to their Attio user. When someone exports, the records they create are owned by their matched Attio user.

4. Export people and companies

  1. Select people or companies in your search results or in one of your lists.
  2. Click Export to Attio.
  3. Tables.so matches people by email address and companies by domain. Existing records are updated with the fields you mapped, and new records are created for everyone else.

Exported people and companies get a small Attio badge in Tables.so. Hover it to see when each was last exported.

5. Managing the connection

Reconnecting: if the Attio card shows that the connection needs attention, click Reconnect on the integrations page and approve the permissions again.

Disconnecting: click Disconnect on the Attio card. This removes the connection, its stored credentials and your mappings from Tables.so. To remove the app's access on Attio's side as well, uninstall Tables.so from the apps in your Attio workspace settings. Records you already exported stay in Attio.

Troubleshooting

  • The Attio window doesn't open: your browser may have blocked it. Allow pop-ups for tables.so and click Connect Attio again.
  • "Admin access required": only Tables.so workspace admins can connect a CRM. Ask an admin of your workspace to connect Attio.
  • "Connection cancelled": the permissions were not approved in Attio. Start again and click approve.
  • Records aren't appearing in Attio: check that the people you export have an email address and the companies have a domain. Tables.so uses these to find existing records.
