Close Setup Guide
Connect Tables.so to Close and export prospected and enriched contacts and companies to your CRM.
This guide walks you through connecting Tables.so to Close, mapping fields, assigning owners, and exporting your first list. The whole setup takes about 5 minutes.
Before you start
- A Tables.so account. Connecting Close is free; exporting to Close requires a Plus plan or higher.
- Admin access to your Tables.so workspace. Only workspace admins can connect or disconnect a CRM.
- A Close user in the organization you want to connect.
- Pop-ups enabled for
tables.so. The authorization flow opens in a new window.
The Close integration is in beta. If you don't see Close on your Integrations page, email info@tables.so and we'll turn it on for your workspace.
How Tables.so maps to Close
- People in Tables.so are exported as Close Contacts.
- Companies in Tables.so are exported as Close Leads.
- In Close every contact belongs to a lead, so a person is added to the lead for their company. If a person has no company, Close creates a lead for them.
1. Open the integrations page
Sign in to Tables.so and, in the sidebar on the left, click Integrations. You'll see a card for Close.
2. Connect your Close account
- Click Connect Close on the Close card. A Close authorization window opens.
- Sign in to Close if you aren't already, and pick the organization you want to connect.
- Review the request and approve it. Tables.so uses this access to read your Close fields and users, and to create and update the leads and contacts you export.
- The window closes automatically. The Close card now shows Connected with the name of your Close organization.
3. Map your fields (recommended)
Below the integration cards, open Close field mappings. Tables.so loads the fields from your Close organization, with a tab for Contacts and a tab for Leads.
Each row maps a Tables.so property to the Close field it should write to. Close custom fields appear in the dropdown next to the standard fields, including text, number, date, choice and yes/no fields. You can also set a fixed value, for example a Lead Source of "Tables" on every lead. Click Save mappings when you're done.
If you skip this step, Tables.so uses defaults: name, title, email, phone and LinkedIn URL for contacts, and company name, description, website and address for leads.
4. Assign owners (optional)
Close has no built-in owner field on leads or contacts. To assign exported records to someone on your team:
- In Close, go to Settings → Custom Fields and add a custom field of type User on Leads, Contacts, or both.
- Back in Tables.so, on the Contacts or Leads tab, choose that field under Owner field and click Save owner field.
- On the Users tab, map your workspace members to their Close users, then click Save mappings.
5. Export a list to Close
- Open a list in Tables.so. To export only some rows, select them first.
- Click Export in the top right and choose Sync with Close.
- Pick who the records are assigned to under Assign to, or choose No one.
- Review the contact and lead mappings for this export, including any AI research columns you want to send, then click Next step.
- Check the summary and click Export. A progress notice shows how many records were created, updated or skipped.
Tables.so checks Close before creating anything, so exporting the same people twice doesn't create duplicates:
- Records exported before are updated in place.
- Contacts are matched by email address, and leads by website domain.
- Emails, phone numbers and URLs are added to a record without removing the ones already there.
- If more than one Close record matches, Tables.so leaves them unchanged and reports the row as skipped.
6. Managing the connection
Reconnecting: Close access refreshes automatically in the background. If the Close card says Reconnect required, click Reconnect Close to run the authorization again.
Disconnecting: On the integrations page, click Disconnect on the Close card. This revokes Tables.so's access with Close and removes the stored credentials from Tables.so. Leads and contacts already exported stay in Close.
Troubleshooting
- Pop-up blocked: Your browser may have blocked the authorization window. Allow pop-ups for
tables.soand click Connect Close again. - Close isn't on the Integrations page: The integration is in beta. Email info@tables.so to have it turned on for your workspace.
- Field mappings won't load: The connection has usually expired. Click Reconnect Close on the integrations page.
- Exported records have no owner: Make sure an owner field is chosen for Contacts and Leads (step 4), and that the person under Assign to is mapped to a Close user.
- Rows were skipped: More than one Close contact has the same email, or more than one lead has the same website. Merge the duplicates in Close and export again.
